ALL Angles Exclusive Interview with the Prime Minister

Prime Minister Bruce Golding has placed on record the position that his government does not intend to cut public sector jobs despite government’s decision to return to a borrowing relationship with the International Monetary Fund, IMF.

ImageMr. Golding’s comments were made in an exclusive interview on All Angles, the main current affairs programme which will be aired tonight (Wednesday) July 21 at 9pm in Television Jamaica Limited, TVJ. “There are no plans to cut public sector (workers’) jobs nor has there so far been any insistence in the discussions with the Fund for that” said Golding who sat down for an hour long interview with host Dionne Jackson Miller.

The interview is Prime Minister Golding’s first major television interview since the global economic crisis began last year. Among the critical issues discussed on the programme were government’s spending during the recent by elections and Mr. Golding’s plans for the Finance Ministry with the imminent departure of Senator Don Webhy.

Prime Minister Golding also revealed that the government will not be rescinding some of its far reaching social and developmental initiatives.
